Illusion Shield

Many Security Experts believe that the best strategy during a workplace or school shooting is to hide in place, but where do you hide? Hiding under the desk or in a closet are not great choices. Those hiding places will not provide protection if discovered by a shooter.

Now, the Illusion Shield gives students and workers a better place to hide. A shooter on the other side of the Illusion Shield will only see an illusion of the corner of a room which may contain desks, chairs and computers but there will be no people to target. The area will blend with the rest of the room, because the illusion will have been created from a photo taken of the room. If the walls of the room are brown or white the walls in the illusion will be brown or white. If the desks in the room are school desks, the desks in the illusion will be the same school desks. Also, layers of Kevlar inside the Illusion Shield will provide a level of protection from bullets. With the Illusion Sheild, students and workers will have a better place to hide and a better chance of surviving a school or workplace shooting.

Illusion Shield overview.

  1. The Illusion Shield uses a three-dimensional graphic that is placed on a room divider to create an illusion of an empty corner of a schoolroom or office where students or workers can hide behind during a school or workplace shooting.
  2. The three-dimension graphic placed on the Illusion Shield will be created from a photo of the corner of the actual schoolroom or office corner that the Illusion Shield will shield. Thus, the three-dimension graphic will blend seamlessly with the surrounding area. It will show an empty corner and the shooter will not see the students or workers hiding behind the Illusion Shield.
  3. The Illusion Shield will be long enough and tall enough to allow ten to thirty or more people to hide behind it, depending on the size of the Illusion Shield that is ordered. The longer the width of the Illusion Shield, the more space there will be to hide.
  4. The Illusion Shield will be constructed of the following three layers. (1) A three-dimension graphic will be printed on a printable material. (2) A Plexiglass layer similar to the material car hoods are made of. (3) A Kevlar layer similar to the material bullet-proof vests are made of.
  5. The Illusion Shield will be on wheels and can be placed flat against the wall when not in use and then wheeled away from the wall when in use. When in use, it will be placed into the corner of the room that the three-dimension graphic was designed from. The Illusion Shield can also be left in place as a permanent cover for the corner of the classroom or office.
  6. The Hide In Place Illusion Shield will have four slide bolts, two on each side. Once all the students or workers are hidden inside the Illusion Shield, the four slide bolts are slid into the pre-installed receptors on the side of the walls. The bolts will then prevent the shooter from pulling the Illusion Shield away from the wall, and will also prevent the shooter from entering behind the Illusion Shield.
  7. The Illusion Shield can be custom ordered in various sizes and for various protection levels. For instance, the Illusion Shield can be any size or width desired. Also, the number of Kevlar layers can be customized for protection from various calibers of bullets.

The sad reality is that school and workplace shootings have become commonplace in all societies around the world and there have been few options available that will help to keep students and workers safe. Now, with the Illusion Shield, students and workers will have a better chance of surviving a shooting incident. If the shooter doesn’t see them, then the shooter can’t shoot them and if the shooter fires randomly, the Kevlar built into the Illusion Shield will offer a degree of protection in the schoolroom and in the workplace.
